Videos Spotlight Women Who Brought the New INFINITI QX60 to Life

2022 INFINITI QX60 | Toronto, ON

To create an SUV that can adapt to the demands of a career, family life, and recreation, INFINITI called upon a team of skilled female designers and engineers to bring the 2022 QX60 to life. To document their hard work and talent, INFINITI created a four-part short film series, “The Voices of QX60: Meet the Women Who Powered the All-New QX60.”

In this series, the leading ladies of the QX60 design team discuss how their personal experiences helped them create the sophisticated luxury SUV. INFINITI Color Designer Sayuri Nakashima drew upon her Japanese heritage to craft the QX60’s Zen-like interior design and serene color choices. When working on creating a vehicle that’s suited to both a career and family life, Trisha Jung considered her busy lifestyle as the Director for Pricing and Incentives and Model Line Management.

Durability Test Engineer Heather Kniep utilized her passion for cars and her expert engineering skills to refine the QX60’s new all-wheel-drive technology. Senior Design Manager Michelle Christensen led the project by finding inspiration in the innovative QX60 Monograph concept.

You can watch “The Voices of QX60” on the official INFINITI YouTube channel and on the brand’s various social channels. Come see what these designers and engineers created by test-driving the 2022 INFINITI QX60 at INFINITI Downtown in Toronto, Ontario.

INFINITI Unveils QX60 Monograph Concept

INFINITI QX60 Monograph | Toronto, ON

INFINITI has given us a glimpse into the future. The premium carmaker recently unveiled the INFINITI QX60 Monograph concept, presenting an even more upscale and advanced exterior design for the brand’s three-row luxury SUV.

“The QX60 Monograph embodies the Japanese concept of ‘Ma,’ a sense of minimalism where designers seek harmony, adding just the right amount of elements with very specific meaning to create something special,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s senior vice president of global design.

Designers widened the Monograph’s stance, made the shoulder line higher and more pronounced to raise the vehicle’s visual center of gravity, and gave the greenhouse a more open look. A raked roof, muscular fenders atop large alloy wheels, and a longer wheelbase give the Monograph an especially action-oriented attitude. Platinum body paint contrasts with a black roof and creates a dramatic, shadowy effect.

Up front, the grille mesh is inspired by origami, while the panoramic roof features “kimono fold” patterning. The front and rear headlamps flaunt a “Digital Piano Key” design that incorporates an illuminated INFINITI emblem.

The Monograph is just a concept vehicle for now, but its regular QX60 sibling is built to impress as well — and it’s available for you to test-drive right here at INFINITI Downtown in Toronto.

3 Service Tips for When Your Car Sits Idle

car sits idle - toronto, on

If you leave your vehicle parked for long periods of time, make sure you’re taking steps to keep it in smooth working order. As your car sits idle, following these three tips will help you maintain your ride’s drivability for when you’re ready to resume normal trips.

Take care of your tires. Cars that remain in one spot for a long time are at danger of flat spotting. Flat spotting is when the weight of your vehicle flattens the rubber of your tire, and it can occur when your car sits inactive for a long period of time. Regularly check your tires and tire pressure, and occasionally drive your vehicle around the block to prevent this from happening.

Protect your car’s exterior. Drivers without garages need to take special care to take care of their car’s exteriors when the car is sitting idle. These vehicles will likely accumulate debris and dirt, including bird droppings and tree sap. This can cause issues with your paint job in the future, so if your car is sitting outside, invest in a waterproof car cover.

Don’t forget about your battery. Batteries can lose their charge over time if the vehicle isn’t driven, so make sure you don’t have to jumpstart your car when you use it next. Plug your battery into a battery tender or disconnect it entirely to save yourself from a dead battery.

If your vehicle needs repairs or service after sitting for a lengthy period of time, bring it to INFINITI Downtown in Toronto and we’ll help you get it back in good shape.

INFINITI Qs Inspiration Concept Car Makes National Debut

As part of INFINITI’s move toward a more electrified lineup, the brand recently introduced the INFINITI Qs Inspiration concept car. This model made its national debut at the 2020 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) in Toronto.

Based on a sports sedan body, the INFINITI Qs Inspiration concept car combines an elevated driving position and top-notch performance with an all-electric powertrain. It also comes equipped with an all-wheel-drive system and has a new body style.

Its cabin is minimalist, combining design and craftsmanship to help it stand out. Its two distinct zones are obvious. The first zone is the cockpit, which remains clutter-free to keep the driver engaged with the road; the second zone is the passenger area, which focuses on relaxation and offering ample space.

The Qs Inspiration Concept is a sign of things to come for INFINITI, which plans to offer five new models over the next five years, including three electrified vehicles.

“The Qs Inspiration Concept precedes a new-generation electrified production model from INFINITI, one of a series of advanced-powertrain road cars to be launched in the years ahead,” said Adam Paterson, managing director of INFINITI Canada. “Electrification presents an opportunity to reinvent the INFINITI brand globally through high-performance, low-emission models which offer a thrilling drive experience and total range confidence.”

The first of INFINITI’s new production models will be the QX55, expected to arrive next year. While not an EV, the QX55 will give customers at INFINITI Downtown and throughout Canada a new option for a sporty, coupe-like SUV.

Try These Spring Car Cleaning Tips

Spring Car Cleaning Tips | Toronto, ON

The cold of winter is finally going away, which means it’s time to think about the fresh start that the new season provides. If you’re not sure where you should start, why not give your car a cleaning? Here are some spring car cleaning tips to get your ride looking like new.

Scrub it up. Winter can damage your car’s exterior, whether it’s coatings of ice or excessive road salt grime on your paint job. Start your spring cleaning with your car’s exterior, giving it a good scrubbing. Make sure you don’t forget your car’s undercarriage, since road salt can cause it to rust over time. Use tire-cleaning spray on your tires. Afterward, wipe your vehicle down with a clean microfiber towel so you don’t leave streaks behind.

De-clutter the interior. No one wants to clean their car when it’s freezing out, which is why your interior likely has more litter inside than normal. Bag up all of this winter trash and give your cabin a vacuuming as well.

Don’t forget about your floor mats. Dried mud, leftover snow sludge, and rock salt can do a number on your floor mats, so pay extra attention to them while you’re cleaning. Take them out and use carpet cleaner if you have carpet mats. If your floor mats are rubber, wipe them down with warm soapy water and hose them off.

Once you’ve cleaned your car for spring, you may also need to bring it in for scheduled maintenance. Contact our service department at INFINITI Downtown to learn how we can help.
